Year of Projects 2026-2027: Weeks 8-9

I missed last week’s update. We are trialing a new dog from a rescue to see if she’s a good fit for our family. Jury is still out – she has a lot of wonderful qualities but she’s more interested in the cat that I’d like her to be so we will see if she can work thru that and stay. Suffice it to say, it has been a busy couple of weeks getting her established in the house and everything else, but here’s what I’ve worked on.

Antipodes: Making progress on this one! I have been working on the colorwork for the body. The pattern is cropped so I have just one more set of colorwork repeats to knit for the called-for length but I’m pretty sure I will wind up making it longer. So I’ll work to that point and then give it a try-on to assess.

Supernova: I’ve started the 3rd medallion. This one is in red-purples and has another beautiful little seahorse at the center. I did start assembling some of the next neutral round around the center medallion but I put a couple of the pieces together in the wrong spot so there will be a rip-out and re-do session to get those corrected. In the meantime, here’s the beginning of medallion 3.

Sleepy Hollow Blanket: I’ve been slowly chipping away at blanket squares in between other things. I’ve gotten the square for row 1 done (so 11 of a final 138). No real goal on these – I just pick one up as I get time and add to the stack.

Transfer Point: This one is done! It was such a pleasure to work on – I’m sad to see it go. The 100% alpaca is delightfully soft and VERY warm. If you haven’t knit once of Kacey Knits patterns, they are great relaxing projects that work up quickly and are fun to knit without being tied to a ton of charts or needing a lot of focus. This one will be gifted away so it’s been blocked and packed, ready to ship!

That’s it for me this week, YOP’ers!

  3. Beautiful projects. What a wonderful shawl. Haha, I need more tanks if I’m going to wear cropped tees/sweaters.
