This is year 16 for Ravelry Year of Projects blogging group. The group runs July 1st through the following year’s June 30th, with weekly check-in type posts on Sundays. All are welcome, and you can join anytime. It’s a low-key fun way to keep yourself on track and to meet other crafters around the globe.
I didn’t do a great job keeping up with a checklist last year, but I find I do better with one, so here’s my tentative plan for Year 16:
Knit 2 pairs of socks
Make 2 small (baby/throw-sized) quilts
Make 1 small cross-stitch project
Make 1 seasonal mug rug
Make 1 seasonal wall hanging: DONE! This mini quilt was a fusible appliqué project from Shabby Fabrics and part of a 12-month collection. I did everything using my machine – the piecing, appliqué and final assembly – except attaching the back side of the binding which I did by hand because I like how that looks. A fun weekend project that took only a handful of hours.

Spin 2 braids of fiber: DONE! I spun up 280 grams from two 140-gram gradient sets for Tour de Fleece 2026 into one large skein with 801 yards of 2-ply.

Make 1 pair of pants
Make 1 advent project from stash
Finish the Book Club Cardigan
Finish Transfer Point Shawl
Finish Rune Blanket
Finish Flower Child
50% on Supernova quilt
75% on A Long Winter’s Nap cross-stitch
I don’t know how closely I will stick to all of this, but I’m hoping there’s enough variation to keep me engaged, get a few things finished, make progress on some bigger projects and generally enjoy crafting without feeling too pressured or over-committing.
