First up this week, I have finished putting together the top for the Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Quilt! I am very happy with how this turned out and excited to get it sent off for long-arm quilting this week! The fabrics are from the Jane Austen at Home collection, which is a group of 19th century reproduction fabrics based on extant pieces from Chawton Cottage and other Austen family things. The pattern is designed by Riley Blake Designs and is a mix of appliqué and piecing.
Next up, I am in the home stretch on my Tour de Fleece spin. I have all the singles spun up and I started plying this weekend. The Tour runs thru next Saturday, I believe, so I’m hoping to have this one finished and off the wheel by then. It will be a very generous 280-gram gradient skein when finished. (To be honest, I’m not sure it will all fit on the bobbin, but I will give it a go.) This is a blend of bamboo, BFL and merino from Hilltop Cloud Fibres.
Supernova Quilt: A bit more slow progress on the blue medallion. I’ve started adding the stars around the outside of the seaweed wreath. Enjoying this one but it for sure is a process with lots of contemplative hand-sewing.
Flower Child Top: A little bit of progress on this one. I’m working on the rounds with bobbles which always take a while but the yarn (an alpaca, silk and linen fingering weight) is a delight to work with and I’m enjoying this one as well.
Craggy Shore Socks: Also slow progress on these but I pulled them out for movie night and I’m making progress down the leg of sock 1. Yarn is Hue Loco’s Merino Sock.
