First up this week, a finished Lite Bright sweater! I used 3 skeins of Hedgehog Fibres sock yarn in a speckled pink to blue fade. I used almost all the yardage for the first color (which I opted to knit the short/cap sleeves in) but had a bit left of the other two. This is a well-written pattern from Wool & Pine, and a great stashbuster. I do think the speckled/multicolored yarns helps blend the transitions better than a solid would. The pattern has lots of options – you can use any number of colors, and can add long sleeves instead of short. There’s a math/calculation page to figure out when to switch yarns depending on the number of colors you picked. The slightly scooped neck and compound raglan shoulder shaping make this very comfortable to wear. A winner!

Other things I’ve worked on this week included the Oscar cardigan. I have the sleeves knit and joined to the body, so I’ll work the raglan shaping decreases and shawl collar to get this one finished up. I think it’s going to be a super cute and warm kiddo sweater for the donation box.

I’ve put a few more rows into the Transfer Point shawl. This is a great easy project with just garter stitch or slipped-stitch patterning and it’s going to be a VERY soft and warm hug of a warp since I’m knitting it in 100% alpaca.

Finally, I have been slowly assembling the pieced borders for the Jane Austen Anniversary Quilt. I have more of the split diamonds to add and I’ll be working on those this week.

Next week will close out this year of Year of Projects and I’ll have an update on how I did this year and my plans for next year in a few days!
