Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 45

Things are busy here right now. Trying to maintain some time for crafty things but work has gotten kind of overwhelming (still down a person in our department – although we are interviewing this week hopefully! – in the midst of a major company overhaul project – and I’ve stepped into a role with more responsibility, which is wonderful but also… a lot some days!). I have felt very untethered most evenings when I sit down to craft after dinner so I rebuilt my Tiny Decisions app with my active projects just to take that decision off my plate and I’m just working on whatever it assigns me each night.

I also made the decision that I’m going to put my Book Club Cardigan into time-out until late summer. We have catapulted full steam into summer temps this weekend and I have not felt interested in picking that one up (although I know I want to finish it to wear this fall). I put a few more rows in it this past week but nothing really to show there.

For other things I worked on, while I haven’t gotten this month’s fabrics for the Jane Austen Anniversary Quilt, I did look ahead in the pattern to the last appliqué parts, which are 4 long, narrow leaf and vine borders, which I already have fabric for, so I went ahead and started on those. I finished the first of the 4 and I’m going to try to get the second one done this week.

I have continued working on the Oscar sweater. I’m making the 2-year-old size, and I’m about halfway up the body to the underarms. This is my mostly mindless project so I’m using it for longer meetings when I can be off-camera to keep my hands occupied.

In place of the Book Club cardigan, I started one of the projects I had in my queue for a summer knit project: Extra Lite Bright from Wool and Pine. This is a simple, fingering-weight top with a slightly scooped neckline and compound raglan sleeves. I’m knitting mine from a 3-color gradient from Hedgehog Fibres in pinks and blues. Just a small start but it’s on the needles.

Last but not least, my star hexis are up to 82! Less than 20 to go to finish these up for the 100-day project.

That’s it for me this week!

  1. what a clever idea to let an app pick your evening project. Takes a bit of stress of the mind. Pretty colors for the summer sweater.
