First off, the bad news. The dyer was not able to source another skein of yarn to finish my Graerup Slipover. I think if I hadn’t already frogged the entire back once I might have tried to see if I could figure something else out but at this point, I am just going to frog it and put the yarn back into stash and will use it elsewhere in the future when I can get over the mental hump of it. Sometimes things just are not meant to be as you planned!

And for the rest of my crafty week, I finished piecing the table runner for my mum. I have sent this off to get quilted and while I’ll be cutting it close to have it back and the binding on by late June (which is when her birthday is), I am hopeful I’ll be close. This was a really fiddly pattern and to be honest, I think it would have benefitted from being a foundation paper piecing project. There were a LOT of really small (like 1” squares that finished at 1/2”) pieces and I don’t feel like it was as precise as I might want it. However, it is an adorable design and I think it will be just fine once quilted. The colors are super cheerful and it’s exactly what my mum wanted for the summer.

Once that was done and off to the quilter, I pulled out my Sparrows quilt and got another 4 bird blocks completed. This quilt will have 6 rows of 4 blocks, so I’m about a third done with the block piecing so far.

I also finished the final 4 squares of appliqué for the Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Quilt blocks. Next up will be a pieced border that will surround the main central square. There is one more final appliqué hurdle which is 4 middle borders of appliquéd leaves and vines totaling 72 leaves in all. I have started prepping the leaves because I know that will be a long process to get those done and stitched down, but I’ll just chip away at those while I wait for the May block of the month package with the pieced border fabric.

Star hexagons are also progressing nicely. I’m actually a little bit ahead on these with 75 completed. (Today is day 72 of The 100-day project.) I’m in the home stretch!

Still working on my Book Club cardigan which was the last of my long-term WIPs I’m trying to finish. I have about 1.5 inches left before I can add the pocket openings, so that’ll be my goal for the week.

Last but not least, I cast on for a cute little kiddo cardigan jacket. I’m using the Oscar pattern in a gorgeous turquoise blue tweed. I have enough yardage of this yarn to make a 2-year-old size (and maybe a matching hat).
