Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 52

This week marks the end of year 15 of Year of Projects. I’ll have a summary post to talk about what I checked off my list (and what I didn’t), but this post will be all about what I worked on this week to close out year 15.

Oscar: I finished up this little grandpa cardigan this week! A fun pattern and easy to make (although I was not a fan of the grafted collar seam and if I make this again, I’d probably just do a 3-needle bind-off). It knits up quickly in worsted-weight yarn. I used Stolen Stitches Deas in a tweedy turquoise blue. I think this will wear well as it’s a wool and mohair blend. It’s going into my donation box for the fall refugee shipment. I made the third size, which should fit a 2-year-old.

Supernova Quilt: I started on the center of the next section for this one. You may remember the center is a rainbow of colored stars, and we’re moving on to work the “spokes”, each of which is a different color theme. This one goes in the blue section.

Jane Austen Anniversary Quilt: I finished up border 5 (of 9) with all the pieced hourglass shapes. The next border will be flying geese and the appliqué motifs that all get attached together.

Apple Orchard Cross-Stitch: I had a hankering to start a new cross-stitch project – I seem to average 1-2 of these little smalls each year. This one is Apple Orchard and is part of the Blackbird Designs Garden Club Series. I’m using a 32-count linen and hand-dyed cotton threads for mine.

That’s it for me this week YOP’ers! Thanks for another great year of blogged projects.

  1. Such a sweet sweater for a wee one. I swoon everytime I hear of Xstitch on 32 count. Admiration for everyone working on it.

  2. Such a great baby cardigan. So sad they don’t get to wear it very long since they grow so fast. Your quilts are always beautiful.
