Here’s what I worked on this week:
Painted Plains Scarf: I am happy to say this one is done. It always takes me forever to get thru a scarf – I just lose interest with them, I guess? Which is unfortunate since they are such great gifts, as this one will be. I modified the pattern to be slightly narrower and did squared-off ends (rather than scalloped ones with fringe). I used two skeins of merino/cashmere/nylon sock yarn so this is very soft and warm. The dark gray is Lambstring Yarns in the Will O’ Wisp colorway, and the light blue (which came with the terra cotta as a mini/sock set) is Efflorescent from Six and Seven Fiber. Very happy with how this one came out. (It is a really basic pattern and probably suited even for a beginner as it is mostly stockinette with a row of slip stitches every so often.

Star Hexagons Scrappy Table Runner: This is my 100-day project and we’re at day 58. I prepped almost all of the remaining pairs of diamonds so I “just” have the sewing to do. I ordered a navy blue fabric for the backing that I think will also work for the half-hexis along the edges – when I get to that part.

Leaf Pile Table Runner: I finished quilting the sashing and the first interior border, and I have started on the rectangular pieced border’s quilting. Slow but still progress!

Summer Flowers Table Runner: I guess this is a table runner blog now?!? My mum asked for a summer flowers table runner she can use for that season, so we looked at a few options when I was visiting with her last month and she picked one with a central sunflower and 2 other blue flowers, which I’ve gotten assembled this week. There are a pair of cute little bees to be pieced and a few smaller tulips that will go between the bigger flowers.

Since I finished up the Painted Plains project, the next WIP to tackle will be my Graerup Vest. I’ve figured out how much plain stockinette I need before casting off for the armholes for my modified version, so that’ll be up this week, plus some time on the above quilts.
Have a great week YOP’ers!
