I launched the first episode of my rebranded podcast today. You can find it over on YouTube by searching for The Emporium of Forgotten Threads channel or watch here.
In this episode, I talk about two “alongs” I’m hosting – one book and one craft project, as well as a few of the projects I’m currently working on.
Show Notes:
Episode 1 Book: The Museum of Lost Quilts by Jennifer Chiaverini Historical fiction that looks at the power of collective memories, as told through objects like quilts. Other title suggestions for similar themes include:
Sandra Dallas – The Persian Pickle Club
Alyson Richman – The Thread Collectors Tracy Chevalier – The Last Runaway
Episode 1 Project: A Memory Project of your choice. I will be working on embroidering small motifs on a plain sweatshirt to reprsent the books I read in 2026.
Other good choices for projects would include:
A WIP that you’ve been working on for a while and has many memories attached to it.
A project using scraps you’ve collected over a period of time (like a scrap quilt, or a memory blanket).
A project using supplies you purchased during a trip or at an event tthat have memories tied to those activities.
Anything else you feel matches the prompt for a “collective memory” project.
I’ve also set up new Discord group to talk about the book and/or chat about your project and share photos.

Questions about how to use Discord? There are several good YouTube videos, but this one answers a lot of basics: https://youtu.be/CJ1CMGXznFw? si=QThRMNj3fIVP-puc.
Enjoy!
