Having a very nice at-home long weekend this Labor Day. I had lunch out with a friend and we walked around the Santa Fe art market on Saturday but otherwise I’ve been home enjoying some crafting time.
I finished the collar on Dyad and the first sleeve on Asterie but since both of those look basically the same, I didn’t bother taking pictures this week.
I’ve stitched the house except for some random leaves and vines and added in the big maple tree in my Autumn Garden cross-stitch.

I have the third (of four) rows put together on my Birds and Bees quilt. My plan is to send this one out for long-arm quilting when it’s done. I haven’t done that before but I think this quilt with all the open space will lend itself to that.

I also stitched up another block on my snowman quilt.

And at the risk of this becoming a quilting blog, I’ve got a new quilt started. This is a Lori Holt pattern using Riley Blake fabrics licensed from Jane Austen’s Chawton Cottage. The pattern itself is free but I opted for a block of the month kit from Stitchin’ Heaven so I could use the called-for fabrics. You can see the entire design here.
It’s got a mix of pieces blocks and appliqué. I hadn’t used Lori Holt’s appliqué method before but I like it a lot! We’re starting in the center block which is all appliqué. I’ve gotten the pieces cut out and ready to be stitched down.

Another day off tomorrow will hopefully see a bit more progress on a few things for next week!
