Has it only been a week? It feels like 10 years have passed. If you read my life update section from last time, you’ll know we were planning to put our house on the market. We live in a fairly remote area with limited housing options and we had signed all the paperwork to list our house, having found 1 good option and 1 maybe option to downsize into. But the day we signed the papers, the good option went under contract and the maybe option we decided wasn’t going to work. So… we opted not to move forward with listing our house. We know we will be here likely another 5 years and that’s too long to just settle for someplace that we weren’t thrilled about living in. We will cross that bridge at a later date. (On the upside, I have a really clean house? I’ll take that I guess?)
On to this week’s projects. I have completed the body of Dyad and I am going to add the cabled collar before I move on to the sleeves, I think. It’s a fairly dense cable pattern so I think I’ll probably have to concentrate more on that than mindless sleeves and will be a good pattern to work on in the evenings.

Since I no longer feel the need to have my sewing space cleaned up, I pulled out the pieces of the Aster blouse I was working on and got a bit further on that project. I assembled the body and set in the sleeves. I thought I had bias tape for the neckline but I don’t – and I needed buttons. Both of those are on order and should be here next week-ish. I really love this lawn fabric. It is very light and crisp yet drapey. My husband actually asked if it was lightweight silk!

I also finished the first 2 blocks of the Postcard Cuties for Winter Quilt. This is a lap-sized quilt with a combination of piecing and appliqué and embroidery. There are also some decorative buttons but those will go on after it’s quilted.

And finally this week, I ripped out the light gray I had put into the house trim on my Autumn Garden cross-stitch. It was too light and the white windows didn’t show up well against it, so I took those stitches out and picked a slightly darker light gray, which I’m much happier with.

That’s all from here this week YOP’ers!
