This week wasโฆa challenge. Lots going on In Real Life so I was a little surprised at what I got done. Those little moments definitely add up!

I finished up the final braid of handspun for the Tour de Fleece with a light-DK 2-ply of blue-faced Leicester hand dyed by Funky Carolina. Iโm going to try to get a summary post up about the Tour this week but in general I loved having the excuse to do so much spinning.

I have the sample Dyad sweater designed by Kate Oates to the point where the body and sleeve are separated and Iโm working down the body of the jacket. Yarn is Magpie Fibers worsted weight superwash merino.
I also put in a few more body rounds on my Asterie sweater but it looks basically the same so no photo this week.

I picked up my repaired sewing machine this week and tested it out finishing this little cross-stitch piece from Blackbird Designs. I backed it with a neutral taupe velveteen and then hand-ruched some blue silk ribbon I had in stash to trim the edges. I have that out on the little narrow table by our back door so I can see it whenever Iโm in or out of the house.

I then started The Autumn Garden by The Drawn Thread which is the 3rd in this seasonal series I have done (winter and summer are completed). Not much of a start but Iโve got the house started as the anchor point for everything else.

Finally Iโve got 2 tops I would like to sew to see me thru the end of summer and beginning of fall. The top floral print will be the short-sleeve/flutter-sleeve version of Aster and the other one shown will be the long-sleeved version. Iโm excited about both of these and the muslin I made up only needed a few very minor tweaks for a good fit so Iโm optimistic I will wear both of these a lot. Iโve been looking at other patterns Iโd like to make and incorporate into my wardrobe to replace some fast fashion pieces I donโt wear very often.
Thatโs it for me this week!
