I finished the small throw/kid quilt I started last weekend. This is the first quilt I did entirely by machine – the piecing, the quilting and the binding. I did a very simple square outline for the quilting, and I will admit that while attaching the binding by machine is quicker than hand-sewing it on, I don’t like the finished look as much. Regardless, this one is done, it’s been washed and dried and I will be sending it on to Lifting Hands International for their refugee efforts this week (along with a few hats I’ve finished recently.)
This is a simple quilt using a Riley Blake set of fabrics cut into 5×5” blocks. The backing is the gray version of the owls print.
Very happy with how soft this is now that it’s been washed and dried. I hope it keeps a little one warm this winter and maybe provides some comfort during an unsettled or scary time in their life.
I also made some progress on my Book Club Cardigan this week. The V-neckline shaping is done and the fronts are worked to the point I can join everything to work the fronts and back at the same time.
I’m hoping to get that started tonight and work along on the body a bit this week.
Additionally, I added some rows to my Faded Stripes shawl but it looks pretty much the same so I will spare you a repeat photo. I also have started prepping the appliqué pieces for the next set of 4 Jane Austen Anniversary Quilt blocks but not much to see there either.
