Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 29

I don’t have much to show this week. A video shoot for work + several hundred miles of driving meant it wasn’t a great week for crafting. Here are the few bits and bobs I did accomplish.

Book Club Cardigan: I finished the right front and picked up stitches for the left shoulder seam so I can work the left front next. It’s finally starting to look like a garment!

Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Quilt: I also finished the December blocks so I am officially caught up (for the moment). Here are those blocks:

And then here’s everything together so far, including the big center block.

I think there are 2 more appliqué block sets of 4 to do (so 8 more blocks total) and then we’ll move on to the inner border which is also appliqué, but is a vine and leaf pattern.

Granny Stripe Blanket: I have completed the second full set of color repeats, which was my goal for the month of January, so I’m happy with that. This one will go on hold for the remainder of the month but it’ll be back again in February.

Otherwise I did a few random blocks on things this weekend including my Liberty fabric sampler quilt, a couple of blocks for the 2026 Riley Blake Designs sampler quilt and a crochet blanket square for donation.

This week, I’ve got another video shoot for work (although less driving – hooray!), so I’m keeping my plans minimal. I’d like to put some time in on my Faded Stripes shawl, work a bit on Book Club and I have a new cast-on for a hat I’d like to make happen sometime this week. Have a great one YOP’ers!

  1. The Book Club cardigan looks great. Love the tweedy yarn and color. Perfect for a comfy cardigan. Your quilt blocks are gorgeous.

  2. I would not be able to keep switching around the panels for your quilt, some stand out as being so similar but then do you want those together of do you want them spread out. I can see I would have trouble and be constantly tweaking the order of them. Are you following how they’ve been laid out in the pattern or have you made your own order up? I have no quilt making experience at all.

    1. So… none of the blocks are laid out in final placements. There is a border around the central big square, and then the smaller blocks run around the internal border in a specific order – but definitely not what I’m showing here. I was trying to get all of them in the photo so they just fit where they fit!
