Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 25

Most of my craft time this week was spent putting the binding on my Birds and Bees quilt. I will have a separate post on that now that it’s finished in a day or two. Otherwise I worked on:

Book Club Cardigan: I’m working my way down the back. It’s all just straight ā€œwork in patternā€ until I get to the bottom of where the sleeves will attach and the cable pattern is pretty intuitive now that it’s set up.

I’m also working on the Fading Stripes Shawl. This is a 2-color version and it’s easy peasy knitting so again… just kind of cruising along on this one.

Finally here’s my Granny Stripe Ripple blanket using the Geode set from Hue Loco. I’ve gotten into the groove on this one and I’ve got 2 more colors to add before I’ll repeat the color pattern again.

No specific deadlines or timetable for any of these. I’m just enjoying working on them and having a bit of variety to pick from right now.

Happy holidays, YOP’ers!

  1. Love the cardi. How are your hands going with the cable, texture and thicker yarn?

    1. This yarn (Blackstone Tweed) is surprisingly easy to work with for its weight (DK). That said, I tend not to work on anything more than 30-45 minutes a time so it’s slow going just in general. I think I might have more trouble if it was a higher-twist/denser yarn but this one has some alpaca in the blend and it’s very woolen-feeling (vs. worsted) and airy.
