Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 19

This week I mostly focused on the Dyad sweater sample as I want to get it finished up and shipped to the designer along with the green one I knit in September. I finished the first sleeve and this week I plan to concentrate on sleeve 2 to get it finished up.

I had kind of stalled out on my striped cat socks and realized I was worried about running out of the minis if I finished the first one – enough that it was preventing me from picking these up to work on so, I cast on sock 2 and I’ll work it to the matching point and then decide if I’ve got enough of the minis left to finish stripes on the feet.

I started the big stitch quilting on the Leaf Pile table runner and like it well enough to continue. I’m using DMC perle cotton (8) in an off white for this.

And finally I have stitched Autumn Garden to where I just have the sunflowers and 1 crow left to stitch! Here’s the finished patch of anemones. I am really going to try to get this one done this month!!

Have a great week YOP’ers!

  1. Thebsweater looks awesome. The Designer will be quite pleased. Cute cute socks. Your table runner looks good with the off white cotton thread. As always, your cross stitch is amazing.

  2. SOCKS! I love the way they look. Hopefully you’ll have enough of the minis to finish the stripes, but at least this way you can make sure the socks match!

    1. I hope so too and I think I will but I hate frogging back if I don’t have to and I know it would bug me if one sock had stripes and the other didn’t so either they both have to have no stripes or both have to be plain. Sometimes my brain just gets in the way. 😜

      1. Fair! I have similar issues unless I’m explicitly making a fraternal sock pair.

    1. They (or ones like them) would be good to start with. This pattern actually accounts for the gauge change most of us have knitting colorwork on tiny needles with her stitch count. Also there’s not a huge amount of it and you can settle back into easy stockinette for most of the sock. I feel sure you can slay that dragon too!

  5. Those kitties are so cute. The grey you used for your Dyad sweater is perfect!

  6. Love your socks. I do knit both socks just because I also want to make sure the yarn matches up. I go back and forth between the socks since I tend to use 9″ circulars. Cuff A, Cuff B, Leg A, Leg B. Now I’m about to start Heel A and then I’ll go to Heel B.

  7. Lovely projects on the go. The colour on the cardigan looks cool, I wonder how it lies when it’s on so must look it up. Oooh so close on your embroidery. Fingers crossed there’s enough yarn to finish the socks, but a massive different coloured toe will be fine.

    1. It kind of hangs loose and folded back but the designer also styled it with a big shawl pin for one look. I’m not against having plain toes on the socks… I think more that I want them to match so I’ll keep going and we’ll find out!

  8. Oh forgot to say, that cotton you are using on your quilt…that’s the yarn I use to weave shoelaces!
