Year of Projects 2025-2026: Week 8

A little bit of progress on a handful of things this week:

I started the cabled collar on the Dyad sample. It’s a fold over collar with cables on both sides so I’ve gotten to the halfway point and have worked the turning row, ready to work the second half.

I also put some time in on my Asterie sweater. I’m cruising down sleeve one and hope to have that finished up this week to start sleeve two. Nowhere near cool enough to wear a wool sweater right now but it’s starting to hint at fall in the mornings and I’d really like this one to wear when the weather turns properly cold.

I did a fair bit of sewing this weekend – including cutting fabrics for a quilt I’ll share with you next week but I also finished cutting sashing for Birds and Bees and assembled the first full row of that.

I finished another block in the snowman quilt. This is the third finished block (there are 12 total) and I’m going to try to get another one done this week.

Buttons arrived Saturday for my Aster blouse so I’m ready to tackle buttonholes on that next. Although the pattern doesn’t call for it I want to finish the armhole seams and I’m waffling over a couple of different options. I did French seams for the other interior seams and it had a self-lined back yoke so I’d like to have all the construction neat and tidy inside.

That’s it this week YOP’ers. I am really REALLY looking forward to our upcoming 3-day weekend here in the States!

  1. Your sweaters look fantastic. How interesting to have a cabled collar. Your quilted pieces are sooo cute. Fall is indeed coming. It always makes me a little sad to start seeing the yellowing of the trees. We are currently enjoying late September temperatures. Enjoyed a lovely walk this morning.

  4. Hi. Sorry to be asking this on your personal blog, but is there a way one can still buy your knitting patterns? I fell crazy in love with your The Snow Queen Jacket and would absolutely love to be able to make it. Thank you.
