This wound up being the week where I finished a few smaller things and they also were what took up most of my crafting time, so this post will serve double-duty as my weekly update and as a quick FO post.
Norrland Hat: This project was my main focus and despite being fussy to work, only took me just over a week to complete. It is a beautiful pattern and since I worked mine up in 2 cashmere blends, it is gorgeously warm and soft. It is, however, very chart heavy as you might guess, so I’d say more suited for at least an intermediate knitter.

The crown has a lovely star-shaped flower on the top from where the gray cable stitches shift and eventually get decreased away.

Snowglobe Hat: As part of a personal challenge I am trying to knit at least one donation box project a month and this was January’s. The pattern is from TinCanKnits (they have such great patterns!) and I used a skein of non-superwash DK from Six and Seven Fiber in the Snowbird colorway to knit the largest size.

I feel like this color is very unisex and the cables make it very warm and squishy, so I think it’ll be a great donation box addition.
Knockturn Alley Handspun: Also on my personal to-do list is to spin up a braid of stash fiber every other month. This pretty one was Corriedale wool from Two If By Hand and I think I’d describe it as “moody rainbow” (which I love). I spun this up into a 2-ply worsted weight yarn with 187 yards in the skein. Love how this one turned out!

Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Quilt – Block of the Month #4: While not a complete finish, I did get the 4 blocks from the November BOM shipment completed this week and those are pressed and hanging with the others while I keep moving forward on block construction.

I am currently working on the month 5 shipment (from December) and have 1 of those blocks completed with the other 3 on deck for this week.
Now that I’ve gotten thru a few small things to kick off the month, I am going to try to get the second full color repeat done on my crochet blanket and get back to work on my Book Club Cardigan. I’ve got a really full week at work coming up including an overnight with a very early morning and then all-day events on Thursday, which normally leaves me completely wiped out but hoping next weekend will be a recharge/crafty one.
Have a great week YOP’ers!
